Homelessness

How do we help when a young person like Sara becomes homeless?

Sara has some great friends, but when she finds herself homeless she can’t rely on them to provide the home she needs. Many young people who find themselves in a similar situation hop between friends, ‘sofa-surfing’ until they’ve outstayed their welcome.

We provide safe accommodation for young people like Sara when they have nowhere else to go. In our houses everyone has their own bedroom and they share a kitchen, bathroom and communal area – a bit like in a student house. Staff are always on hand, day and night, in case of difficulties, or just to talk to. Each person can stay as long as they need until they became confident enough to live independently. For young women like Sara who may have had a negative experience with men, we also have women-only houses.
