A special gift for Mothers Day!

24 March 2017

Merthyr Tydfil Welsh Labour Grassroots (MTWLG) were pleased to present 25 makeup bags of various products from face creams to make ups and hair brushes to towels to local charity Llamau. They were kindly donated by Boots on Cyfarthfa Retail Park.

Adam Mortimer, the manager of the Boots store was only too willing to become involved with the project once he heard that the group were looking to put together gift bags for the children currently living at a local domestic abuse refuge, so that they had something to give to their mothers on Mothering Sunday.

A spokesperson from MTWLG said that they were delighted to have negotiated with Boots to provide these presents for the victims of domestic abuse. “If anyone needs a lift on Mothers Day it is these ladies and the children will be happier that they have a present to give to their Mam. It adds a tiny bit of normality to a stressful time in their lives and I hope it bring pleasure to the children and their mothers.”

A spokesperson from Llamau said, “We are so grateful to MTWLG and to Boots for providing these gifts that will make the very difficult time that is spent in refuge a little bit easier. Domestic Abuse is an issue that is often swept under the carpet and many people don’t appreciate the impact it has on children.”
