Over the past two years, we have been so grateful for the continued support of the University of South Wales. Since choosing Llamau as the university’s Charity of the Year back in March 2018, University of South Wales has raised a total of £12,395.35 for Llamau.

This fantastic amount has made a huge difference to the lives of the people we support, by ensuring that we can continue delivering our vital services which help homeless young people and vulnerable women to build an independent future for themselves, and to leave homelessness behind for good.

Throughout our partnership, the university’s commitment to supporting Llamau and to creating a world without homelessness has been clear to see. The University of South Wales has taken part in a sponsored walk up Pen-Y-Fan, held fundraising raffles, and has donated over £6,000 by donating £1 for each of the university’s annual student questionnaires that was completed in 2019 and 2020.

At Llamau, we truly believe that if we all work together, we really can create a world without homelessness. We’re so grateful for the support from University of South Wales and the dedication the university has shown to improving the lives of disadvantaged people in their community.

Professor Julie Lydon, Vice-Chancellor of the University of South Wales, said:

“Llamau is a charity whose mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women.  We are delighted to have raised this significant amount for another fantastic organisation that has contributed so much to social justice in Wales.”

Wendy Collie, Corporate and Community Fundraiser at Llamau, said:

“At Llamau we are committed to creating a world without homelessness, but we can't do it without the support of partners like University of South Wales. The amount raised by the University of South Wales has made a huge difference to the lives of the people we support, by allowing us to support people into independent futures. University of South Wales has been a fantastic partner to work with, and we are so grateful for the support they have shown to Llamau and the people we support over the past two years."
