About us Current vacancies Floating Support Worker - Monmouthshire Llamau is daring to imagine a world without homelessness – will you help us to create it? We’re looking for passionate, talented and tenacious people to join Team Llamau. You’ll be an empathic person, able to understand and respond to the needs of individuals requiring housing related support. You will support people through a range a situations, from temporary accommodation to those in their own homes. You will support them to overcome the challenges they face in managing their accommodation and help them to connect with services to meet their holistic needs, all the while helping them progress to independence. This is an exciting and varied role. You will be a good listener and able to encourage people to do things for themselves, helping them build their skills and confidence. You will be able to remain calm and show initiative when faced with challenging situations. You’ll be working alongside passionate and supportive colleagues in a rewarding environment, where you’ll be making a huge contribution to creating a Wales without homelessness, every single day. Reference: OSE70 Location: Monmouthshire Contract: Full-time, Fixed term until 31st March 2022 Hours: Working hours are 35 hours a week, between Monday to Friday (9:30am-5pm) Flexibility may be required to work outside of core hours to support young people when they need it most, and to attend team meetings, training events etc. Floating Support Workers take part in the `1st tier On Call rota (1 week in 14). Providing 1st tier On Call support and advice for projects within Gwent including 24hr staffed projects. This may require providing some shift cover / out of hours project attendance where alternatives are not possible. This involves providing On Call support and advice for young people supported, with issues and emergencies they may need to deal with.
