SYSHP and Llamau are delighted to announce their intention to start merger discussions.

Both organisations have a proud and long history in working with young homeless people, and both organisations are founder members of End Youth Homelessness Cymru.

Commenting on the merger discussions, SYSHP Director Liz Slade stated:

This potential merger is great news for SYSHP and for young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Swansea; we will be able to continue to deliver high quality, professionally-led services to young people for whom SYSHP is a life line.

SYSHP, who will be a part of Llamau, will continue to lead in the provision of support and the eradication of youth homelessness in the area.  We will continue to nurture our existing partnerships, ensuring that we complement the activities of our partners in the Local Authority.

The merger with Llamau will allow us to provide colleagues with a more effective infrastructure which will support them and SYSHP to continue to develop and thrive.

Frances J Beecher, Chief Executive of Llamau said:

We are delighted to be in discussion about  joining forces with SYSHP, which are a natural partner to Llamau, and have been an invaluable support with the development of End Youth Homelessness Cymru.

By pooling our resources and expertise in this way we can really add value to all aspects of our work for homeless young people. We will both learn from one another and add strength to the fight for the eradication of youth homelessness.

We will combine our strengths and expertise for the benefit of all young people threatened with homelessness. Together we will seek to eradicate the scourge which blights the lives of around 7000 young people in Wales.
