Llamau will benefit from an award of £874,500 to National Museum Wales (NMW) through the Heritage Lottery Fund’s (HLF) Kick the Dust programme.

The ‘Hands on Heritage’ project aims to connect young people with history by working with partners across Wales, including Llamau, to get young people from across Wales and different backgrounds stuck-in to bringing all aspects of heritage to life.

Throughout all of the National Museum Wales’s sites, young people will have the opportunity to handle and conserve some of NMW’s 5 million objects and curate displays, get involved in marketing and digital activity and even take part in re-enactments.

The money has been awarded through HLF’s Kick the Dust programme, HLF’s pioneering new grant programme distributing £10m from the National Lottery to youth organisations across the UK.
