Linking with Wales' leading homelessness charity, Llamau, has made sense for local Bridgend housebuilding construction firm Jehu Group.

During 2016, the staff and partners working on sites across South Wales have held a number of fundraising activities in aid of Llamau, which supports homeless young people and vulnerable women.

Fundraising events included the Annual Wales Property Triathlon, organised by Jehu Group, as well as a charity band night, a Bake off Competition, and staff attendance at Llamau’s “Sleepout” event at Cardiff City Football Stadium. Overall they have raised an amazing £8,075.39, which will go to support Llamau in their vital work with vulnerable people.

Llamau supports young people and vulnerable women who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. Last year, Llamau supported 8,144 people – an increase of 56% on the previous year.

Elin Evans, Corporate and Community Fundraiser at Llamau said: “We are extremely thankful to Jehu Group for selecting Llamau as its charity of the year for 2016, and for helping us to raise awareness of a very important issue. The need for Llamau’s services increases year on year, and the funds raised will make a huge difference to the lives of the people who use our services.

Managing Director of Development for the company, Simon Jehu, said: “We are pleased to raise such a significant sum for Llamau. It is vital that the charity can continue to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness and we hope our efforts will help make this happen.”
