Llamau’s Year in Review for 23-24 We’re proud to announce the release of Llamau’s Impact Report for 23-24, a testament to our mission to end youth homelessness and homelessness among women in Wales. This report highlights how, through dedicated services, proactive support, and compassionate intervention, we have helped thousands of people move toward brighter, more independent futures. Llamau’s Mission: Ending Homelessness Before It Begins Our mission is rooted in the belief that homelessness can be prevented, especially for young people. By focusing on early identification, intervention, and prevention, we work to address the underlying causes of homelessness before they escalate. From collaborating with schools to supporting families, our prevention work reaches thousands of people every year, offering them the support they need to stay safe, stable, and secure. Providing Safe Homes and Safe Futures At Llamau, we understand that access to safe, supportive housing is crucial for creating positive outcomes. That’s why we’re committed to offering safe accommodation to women and young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. We create environments that foster security and stability, allowing individuals to regain their confidence and build a foundation for success. Our Moving On program extends this support as people transition into independent living. We offer guidance and resources that empower young people and women to sustain themselves confidently in their own homes, laying a path for long-term, stable futures. Key Services Making a Difference One of our essential services, Upstream Cymru, is dedicated to identifying at-risk youth early, providing tailored support to reduce the risk of homelessness. Through initiatives like these, we reach thousands of young people across Wales, connecting them with the help and resources they need. Additionally, the Tŷ Pride partnership offers targeted LGBTQ+ youth homelessness support and accommodation, ensuring that young people who identify as transgender and those within the LGBTQ+ community receive inclusive, tailored care that respects and values their identities. Impact Highlights 94% of people receiving Llamau’s support last year reported a positive impact on their lives, with 93% expressing that they felt safer after accessing our services. Our Learning, Training, and Employment programs empowered nearly 400 young people to gain essential skills, with 80% progressing into further education, employment, or training. Supporting families and individuals impacted by domestic abuse is also a priority for us. In 23-24, over 5,500 people, including children, benefited from Llamau’s domestic abuse services, receiving vital support that helped them move toward safer, more fulfilling lives. Looking Forward As we celebrate the progress of the past year, we remain driven by our mission to end homelessness for young people and women across Wales. The 23-24 Impact Report shows the power of effective, compassionate support to transform lives. Our team at Llamau continues to advocate for change, building on the progress made and working tirelessly to prevent homelessness for future generations.
