Engagement at Llamau uses creative and engaging activities to enable the people we support to experience opportunities that allow them to build positive relationships, become part of their community, reduce social isolation and lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

Role Description

Engagement Volunteers will work across Llamau to promote and engage young people in meaningful and creative activities. You will receive a comprehensive induction, ongoing training and support. Travel and expenses for activities will be reimbursed.

Time Commitment

Roughly 1-3 hours every week or fortnight. This can be flexible, depending on your availability.

How you can help...

Volunteer alongside existing teams to offer opportunities, which develop confidence, improve wellbeing, raise self-efficacy and develops transferable skills for young people aged 16-25.

Possible Tasks

  • Encourage and support young people to participate in activities and events at Llamau and/or in their community.
  • Attending Llamau’s in house educational offer with young people
  • Share your practical skills with young people I.E gardening, DIY, independent living skills.
  • Delivering fun and creative activities 1-1 or within small groups within our supported accommodation  
  • Promote the value of positive lifestyle changes to young people.

Qualities and Skills Required

  • An understanding of issues facing young people
  • Ability to relate to and engage young people
  • A non-judgemental, empathetic and caring attitude.
  • A good communicator, understanding the importance of listening effectively.
  • A commitment to the ethos of the organisation, policies and procedures.
  • The ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries

Additional Information

Two references will be required.
Volunteers will need to have an enhanced DBS Check, organised through Llamau.
