When we decided to create an event that included a bit of a challenge, alongside plenty of iconic Welsh scenery, we knew the Brecon Beacons had to be the destination. We also knew there was ‘no-knead’ to look any further for our fantastic event sponsor.

If the crumby pun didn’t give it away already then we are thrilled to announce that the nation’s favourite family bakery, Brace’s, will be sponsoring our brand new fundraising event, Brace the Brecons.

About the event

The Brecon Beacons are home to the scenic and demanding 16K Brecon Horseshoe Loop. Also known as, the Horseshoe Ridge Hike, the route offers up the best of the Beacons; from waterfalls to the iconic Pen-Y-Fan peak, this route really has it all. The walk is a challenging 16K loop, which will take you anywhere between 4-6 hours, depending on the number of snack-stops!

Running throughout the month of July, allowing for flexibility and social distancing, the event is a great way to reconnect with family, friends and colleagues.

We are very pleased to be running this event with the support of Brace’s Bakery this year. After a tough year of cancelled events and fundraising challenges, Llamau’s Chief Executive, Frances Beecher shares her thoughts.

“The pandemic has put a stop to many of our fundraising events over the last 14 months, forcing us to adapt our ways in order to raise much needed funds to deliver our services. So, as you can imagine we are thrilled to not only be able to host an event but to be in a position to launch such an exciting new one.

“We are truly grateful to Brace’s Bakery for collaborating with us on this event. Like us, they are a values led organisation, working hard to provide for people and families across Wales. We look forward to working with them now and hopefully for many years to come.”

A note from Brace's Bakery...

Brace’s Bakery are a proud sponsor of Llamau ‘Brace the Brecons’ Fundraising Event.

Llamau touches many of our colleagues hearts, helping to fight an issue that is increasing year on
year. Recognizing that our support can help with further facilities and opportunities makes us really
pleased to know that our contribution is going to a great cause and committing to creating a better
lifestyle and helping to change futures for the people Llamau support.

Why Llamau? The charity really fits with our values as a business. Brace’s are run by 4th generation
and our commitment to family values is a key driving force for us. Knowing that Llamau provides a
better community for vulnerable people in Wales and creates an environment so that people feel
connected and a part of something, really resonates with us at Brace’s.

We are proud of our Welsh heritage and the community we have (particularly) in South Wales and
have been supporting our local communities over many years. Therefore we feel as though Llamau
offers the perfect synergy with our business.

We also hope that as a business we can also help to raise awareness of the homeless issue we have
in our country and we are really excited to embark on this new venture with Llamau.

Best Wishes,
Mark & Jonathan Brace.

Whether you run, jog or walk this event, climbing those hills will certainly make you toasty! Ok, we’ll stop now.
