Youth Homeless Helpline

The Youth Homeless Helpline offers free advice, advocacy and signposting for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, and is available 24 hours a day.

Many young people’s homelessness is hidden. They may be sofa surfing or staying temporarily with friends. The Youth Homeless Helpline, backed by Welsh Government, ensures that help is always available, even out of hours.

Each call is answered by someone who listens without judgement and offers guidance to help young people stay safe and access the right support.

Wales' national Youth Homeless Helpline was created by Llamau in 2019. In 2020 a partnership with Shelter Cymru expanded the service, connecting callers to trained volunteers via a freephone number shared with Shelter Cymru’s housing advice line.
