Women's experiences of homelessness and support needs are different from men's. Llamau provides women-only housing and refuges with tailored support to help women create a brighter future

Women’s experiences of homelessness are often different from men’s. Many women have fled abuse or face serious mental health challenges linked to trauma. For others, homelessness may mean sofa surfing or staying temporarily with friends rather than living on the streets. 

Traditional emergency accommodation isn’t always safe or suitable for women. Llamau provides women-only housing and refuges, creating secure, empowering and trauma-informed spaces that meet women’s unique needs. 

Llamau’s women’s services recognise the complex realities that lead to women's homelessness, and provide gender-responsive support that helps women rebuild their lives with confidence.
